7x7 Shogi

7x7 Shogi is a mini shogi game played on a 7×7 board.
Three starting positions are included, and all of them can be freely edited.
Create your own setups and enjoy new ways to play.

Rules

• Pieces move according to the standard rules of shogi.
• Pieces may promote when they enter the second rank (Black) or the sixth rank (White).
• Illegal moves such as dropping a pawn to give immediate checkmate (Uchifuzume), having two unpromoted pawns on the same file (Nifu), or leaving your king in check are prohibited.
• The game ends in a draw if the same position occurs four times.
• Pieces with no legal destination cannot be dropped.
